The Crypto "Investment Boyfriend" Scam
The most expensive romance scam running never asks you for a cent. Instead, your attentive new partner mentions, reluctantly at first, how he makes his money: a crypto platform his uncle or mentor gave him access to. He does not want your money. He wants to teach you.
Why it works so well
Every classic warning sign is absent. No emergencies, no wire requests, no sob stories. You deposit into "your own" account on a professional-looking exchange, you watch it grow, and early on you can even withdraw, the proof that hooks the serious money. The relationship is the delivery mechanism; the fake platform is the trap. This is the romance face of pig butchering, run by industrialized fraud operations.
The tells
A partner whose charm arrives packaged with trading screenshots. A platform you cannot find on major app stores or that "requires" his referral link. Small withdrawal success followed by pressure to go bigger. And the endgame tell: a "tax" or "unlock fee" required to withdraw, the moment the mask comes off.
Protect the money and the heart
Never fund a platform a romantic interest introduced, no exceptions survive that rule. Verify the person with a reverse image search and the pattern with our red flag check. If funds have moved, minutes matter, follow the first-24-hours playbook and check the wallet through our crypto wallet directory.
Real partners share restaurants and playlists. Only scammers share trading platforms.
